Campaign Story

My name is Mary and I struggled with ovarian cysts during my teenager years and then at age 20, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). This health condition causes infertility, enlarged ovaries, menstrual problems. Women with PCOS are more likely to develop certain serious health problems. These include type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, problems with the heart and blood vessels, and uterine cancer. In my case, it was severe and I had to make a decision, have a partial hysterectomy or risk having ovarian cancer. It was a very tough decision knowing what I had to give up, my womb. I had to accept my faith knowing that women with PCOS often have problems getting pregnant.

Myself and my husband would love to complete our family, the good thing is that I still have my ovaries, but I will need gestational surrogacy to actualize our dream of having our children. We both love children and are eager to become parents which made us not give up but seek ways to complete our family.

I ask for help as this is a new path for us to become parents by donating to our fundraiser. The cost of surrogacy is a financial burden which is why we are seeking your assistance.
